The Pisgah Forest Gem Mine offers one of the most exciting and informative school field trips in western North Carolina. Our gem mining field trips are both educational and fun!

Must call for a reservation to do group session rates.

Educational Tour Group Rates

Includes mining, educational session and gem mine group leader and several other freebies shown below.

Under 10 miners- $2 off any bucket size 1 gallon or larger

For more than 10 miners, call for great rates!

-You must purchase a student bucket to participate in teaching and experiment segments

We have facilities to accommodate up to 120 students per visit

Educational Tour Group Rates Include:

Teacher

One Teacher/Leader for each group receives a free 1/2 gallon of mine ore

Student

Each Student Receives their own 1/2 gallon bucket of mine ore
Each student takes home the gems they find in their own treasure bag
Each student takes home a GEM ID card

Groups

Each group gets a 20-minute educational session designed for the age of your group (in our classroom OR outside)

We can tailor to your groups needs; call or email us your special requests.

Each group gets a fluorescent/experimental educational session, inside

Each group gets a personal gem mine leader and onsite gem identification

Indoor and outdoor mining, so you can come any season, rain or shine.

Bus parking Available

Add ons:

–Hendersonville location: we can help you coordinate lunch or other downtown activities-

–Pisgah Forest location: Picnic area available for your group on site or 5 minutes down the road in the National Forest.
